Not long ago, the computer was a tool which extended the hand of mankind. Genius powerhouses such as Bell Labs and Xerox PARC came up with revolutionary technological advances, each of which gave humanity a foothold off which it could leap onto the next level, each time climbing a bit higher, aiming with bolder confidence and dauntlessness. We went from punch cards to teletype terminals to graphical user interfaces in a span of less than half a century. We went to the moon.

We haven't been back there in over half a century. What miracle would it take?

My name is Justin Thomas Chun, and I believe no miracles are necessary. Just grit and determination. I believe that the current generation of humans has the talent, wherewithal, and overall capacity to tackle virtually any wicked problem in the book (and some not in it) given an ample time horizon and sufficient material resources. If we want the future to be as bulletproof as our generation dreamt it might become, it is on us to figure out the path there.

My company, Fluxion Computing Inc., is a privately traded but publicly known analog computing company whose initial objective is to design synthesizer modules for the Euro-Rack design specification. That means that our Fluxion modules (such as PURE CHAOS and CLOSE ENOUGH) will slide right in alongside your Buchla and Moog modules, but will be aimed at doing something entirely different.

See, analog audio is on its face an environment to make music for humans to enjoy. I conjecture it can also be used in unconventional ways, i.e. as a compact signal processing environment for voltage, current, and resistance. Of course, the modules will be capable of producing weird sounds and novel textures for electronic musicians to run with; but at the same time, they will also do much more.
